An already popular and well made game, Warfare Incorporated the RTS is finally ported over to the iPhone and iPod Touch platform. But it is more than just a simple port and runs fluidly on the system and works well with the touch interface. Obvioulsy you’re not going to have the ease of commands like on a keyboard but it isn’t that bad. £2.99 limited price in the App store now so it’s likely to rise soon.
If you’ve already played and completed Warfare Incorporated before you’ll see nothing new here, the system and campaign is exactly the same but will please new users alike.
It will require a lot of time and effort though and isn’t something you can just pick up and play as a certain amount of strategy is required to combat the later levels. The graphics are the biggest let down here and haven’t changed since the games release years ago and only just make it in my book. If it wasn’t for the compelling action and gameplay, Warfare Incorporated wouldn’t satisfy me. However saying that it is a unique experience on the iPhone so far and I’m sure we’ll see many more to grace the mobile platform , so if you like real time strategy games this one may be right up your street.
